All twelve framework curriculum learning fields – grouped by training year

The IHK framework curriculum for IT specialists in system integration comprises twelve learning fields. This overview shows the mapping to training years and helps with planning.

Year 1

    Describe the company and one's own role in the business

    Understand business structures, classify one's own tasks and explain IT in the company context.

  • LF 2

    Equip workstations according to customer requirements

    Provision, configure and document hardware and software for operations.

  • LF 3

    Integrate clients into networks

    Configure network access, verify connectivity and systematically resolve typical errors.

  • LF 4

    Conduct protection needs analysis in one's own work area

    Assess IT assets, identify threats and derive appropriate protective measures.

Year 2

  • LF 5

    Adapt software for data management

    Automate data processing with scripts or queries and adapt to business requirements.

  • LF 6

    Process service requests

    Process tickets in a structured way, communicate and document traceably.

  • LF 7

    Extend cyber-physical systems

    Integrate IoT devices and embedded systems securely into existing IT landscapes.

  • LF 8

    Provide data across systems

    Export, transform and quality-assured import of data between systems.

  • LF 9

    Provide networks and services

    Plan LAN structures, configure services such as DHCP and DNS and secure them.

Year 3

  • LF 10

    Provide server services and automate administration tasks

    Set up server roles, secure operations and automate recurring tasks.

  • LF 11

    Monitor operation and security of networked systems

    Set up monitoring, interpret alerts and analyse incidents systematically.

  • LF 12

    Application development to process a business workflow

    Develop small applications or scripts that support an operational process.
