Exam preparation

Checklists and tips for Part 1 (year 2) and Part 2 (year 3)

The final exam has two parts. Use the checklists as a conversation basis with your trainer and plan practice projects early.

Part 1 – IT Specialist
Summer training year 2

Written exam on fundamentals from the first learning fields: networking, hardware, Linux, IT basics and protection needs analysis.

Preparation checklist

  • Clarify exam date and registration deadline with trainer and chamber
  • Review learning fields 1–4: terms, typical tasks, documentation
  • Work through practice tasks on networking, IP, VLAN and troubleshooting
  • Collect your own projects and training report entries as examples
  • Complete at least one practice test or past exam questions

Exam tips

  • Practise time management: read first, then answer in a structured way
  • Year 1 focus: networking and clients – don't try to learn everything at once
  • Get enough sleep before the exam – discuss stress management with your trainer
